Part Time Seniority

Question
My school had one full time and one part time position within my department. Last year when enrollment increased, a new part time position was created. Next year when enrollment numbers decline and this position is eliminated, who would maintain the part time position? Would it be based on seniority at the school site or seniority with the district? – Anonymous

  1. Employee says:

You are hired by the school district, so your senority is with the district, not your individual site. If you classification is the same, part time and full time don’t make a difference. If you were hired first, then you will have senority, if that other position is cut next year.

If it occurs, it will be based on seniority at the District within classification.
