CSEA Scholarships and Grants

CSEA awards nearly $100,000 in grants and scholarships every year in the amount of $1,000 each to members and their IRS dependent students (including spouses). The funds are awarded by the CSEA State Scholarship Committee which ranks applications on the basis of academic achievement, extracurricular activities, career objectives, and financial need.

Union Plus Scholarships-
Through our affiliation with the AFL-CIO, CSEA members have access to all Union Plus benefits, including scholarships for members, their children, and spouses. Union Plus scholarships range from $500 to $4,000. In 2012, seven of the 129 scholarships awarded went to our very own CSEA members and dependents of members.

National Labor College (NLC)-
The only accredited higher education institution in the United States dedicated exclusively to the education needs of union members, leaders and their families, NLC offers online degrees and certificate programs in business administration, construction management, emergency readiness, and labor studies. Union Plus awards scholarships to NLC students based on financial need.

$500 College Savings Grant-
Simply open a 529 college savings or pre-paid tuition account after July 1, 2011 for your 12 year old or younger beneficiary (including grandchildren), fund it to $1,000, and Union Plus will provide you with a $500 grant (while funds last).
