Repost Reminder: Union Steward Training

If you are considering the opportunity to become a union steward for #293, this would be the first class one would take and it’s at our PDA/La Entrada location on Casa Loma.

This workshop will give you the essential elements you need to begin representing other classified employees in your work place. After completing this Level I training and the Level II Training you will be eligible to attend the UST Level III [advanced job steward] training.

The benefits of being in a union don’t stop with job rights and better wages. Unions help their members to excel in their careers and reach the top of their professions. CSEA offers many training opportunities throughout the year CSEA_PYL293_Trainingdesigned to help you improve your knowledge on the job and to sharpen your skills as a CSEA volunteer.

CSEA ensures that its job stewards get as much training as they need through the CSEA Job Steward Program. Participants get comprehensive training on everything from legal rights to listening skills.

Couch to 5k Challenge!

Registration is now open for the Your Health Matters Couch to 5k Challenge!

Challenge Information:

The Couch to 5k Challenge is an 8 week program, set at your own pace, beginning January 17, through March 14. Ten lucky participants will win a $50 or $100 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
To participate follow the easy steps below:

  • Build a team or individually run/walk at your own pace at least 3 times per week
  • Make healthy food choices
  • Hydrate
  • Complete two surveys; one to register ( link here ) and the second to complete the challenge, which will be sent prior to March 14.


This opportunity is for ALL classified Full and Part time employees only. This is NOT available to temp employees.

Inventor of the Couch to 5k program

Josh wrote the C25K program in 1996. Since then many thousands of couch potatoes have become runners because of Josh’s work. Read about why he wrote the program ( link here ), and the philosophies behind it.

The Preschool Paraeducator assists the bilingual Preschool Educator and other staff with planning and implementing a variety of activities to meet the educational needs of preschool-aged children; provides instruction and supervision to individuals and small groups in the District early childhood program; and helps with the preparation of instructional materials.


Receives immediate supervision from the assigned supervisor.
