293 19-20 Successor TA



Hello CSEA Chapter 293 Members,

This communication is being provided to you to inform you of your right to vote on your new 2019-2022 contract. Your vote is an opportunity for you to exercise your voice as it pertains to the tentative agreement that was reached between CSEA and PYLUSD on the new 2019-2022 contract. We advise that you review the tentative agreement in its entirety. Some highlights of the tentative agreement are as follows:

  1. A new three (3) year contract term (2019-2022) with an opportunity to reopen the contract to negotiate wages, health and welfare benefits, and 3 other items for the 2021-2022 school year.
  2. All eight (8) personal necessity days are now able to be used for matters of compelling personal importance, which means no reason is needed to be provided by a member to PYLUSD when taking a personal necessity leave day.
  3. A compression of the longevity salary schedule (increase increments) which eliminated the 30 years two and half (2.5%) percent increase and added it to the 25 years five percent (5%) increase. As a result, the 25 years longevity salary increase increment is now seven and a half percent (7.5%) and the longevity salary increase increments now max out at 25 years at twenty-two and a half percent (22.5%) on top on a member’s base rate of pay. The change at 25 years shall be applied retroactively to July 1, 2019.
  4. A two percent (2%) on-schedule salary increase for members that shall be applied retroactively to July 1, 2020.
  5. A two percent (2%) one-time bonus for members. The two percent (2%) one-time bonus shall be based on members’ new 2020-2021 base salaries.

CSEA believes this is a good and fair agreement. As such, CSEA’s Negotiations Team recommends a YES vote on this agreement. Link for the informational meeting will be posted on our website no later than 4:45.

REMINDER – Vaccine Clinic at Esperanza HS

Dear PYLUSD Staff,

We wanted to make you aware of an exciting opportunity available to you to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. In a partnership with Albertsons Pharmacies, we are able to offer a districtwide vaccine clinic available to all interested full-time and part-time PYLUSD employees, including substitutes and walk-on coaches. As stated in previous communications, receiving the vaccine is completely voluntary and must be done on your own time. Details of the clinic are as follows:

Where: Esperanza High School West Campus

1891 N. Kellogg Dr., Anaheim 

When:  1st dose- Friday, March 19

             2nd dose-Friday, April 9

Time:   12:00-5:00pm by appointment only

Eligibility: PYLUSD employees only

Vaccine: Pfizer

Next steps: Please read the entire email carefully before registering for an appointment.

  1. Employees must be available for both dates, as missed appointments can not be made up. 
  1. If you have already received your first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, you may not schedule an appointment through this clinic. This clinic is intended for individuals receiving their first dose only.

To schedule an appointment:

  1. Appointments are scheduled using the following link 

Please only make an appointment if you plan on attending. We do not want to waste any vaccine. We are asking that you reserve your spot as soon as possible to help with our planning.

  1. Once you select your appointment time, a confirmation notification will be sent via email or text.  The email will come from Albertsons Patient Care. Check your spam folder if you don’t see it.

What to bring to your appointment:

  1. You will be required to bring the following to your appointment: 
  • A copy of the completed consent form     Vaccine Consent Form
  • A photocopy of a Medical and/or prescription insurance card 
  • A photocopy of your driver’s license.
  • Proof of PYLUSD employment (school badge, paystub, or a verification letter from your school principal)

If you do not have insurance, you will simply provide your driver’s license and the consent form.

  1. Please do not forward this email to others as only PYLUSD employees are eligible.
  1. You will be required to provide an email address when selecting an appointment time. This may either be your personal email or your PYLUSD email address (if you have one).
  1. While waiting 15-30 minutes in the post-vaccination area, use the link provided from the confirmation email or text to schedule your second dose appointment on April 9.

Negotiations Update 3-3-21

CSEA members,

Your CSEA negotiations team is pleased to announce we have reached a tentative agreement with the District on our contract.
The final item we were discussing was wages. The teams have agreed to the following:

1) Unit members will receive a 2% increase over the current salary schedule, retroactive to July 1, 2020.

2) Unit members will receive a one time 2% bonus of your annual salary after the above increase.

3) Our current longevity schedule will be compressed. We will now receive the top amount of 22.5% at 25 years (instead of at 30 years), retroactive to July 1, 2019.

Please keep an eye out for the special meeting notice (via zoom) to vote on the agreement. Full language will be sent out prior to the vote.
