2021 CSEA Scholarship Guidelines

2021 CSEA Scholarship Guidelines

CSEA Chapter 293 has a desire to award scholarships to our members and/or their dependent children as a way to encourage continuing education.  Five (5) scholarships in the amount of $500 each are to be awarded.  Additional scholarships may be awarded if the Chapter budget allows.

The CSEA scholarship application will be advertised in the following manner: in the CSEA chapter newsletter; to the “all classified” email through the PYLUSD email system; posted on the CSEA chapter website; and emailed to all PYLUSD high schools counseling departments.

Applications will be accepted through a date no later than May 7, 2021 which will be specified on the application.  The CSEA scholarship committee will meet to evaluate and discuss all applications, and decide on those to be awarded.  All scholarship applicants will be informed in writing of their status no later than May 31.  Those applicants who are to be awarded scholarships will be invited to attend the June chapter meeting to receive their award.

Scholarship applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:  community service, leadership, school involvement, and grade point average.

Unit member must have completed their initial District probation period for themselves or their dependent to be eligible.

Applicants who have not previously been awarded a Chapter 293 scholarship will be considered before applicants who have won in prior years.

Applications must be accurately and completely filled out to be considered.
